WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- Lexington Two will reopen schools and district offices on a normal operating schedule on Monday, September 17, 2018.
Schools will start at their normal times, and buses will run on normal schedules for morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off.
All extracurricular activities, athletic events, adult education classes and after-school programs also will resume.
The decision to reopen schools and offices was made Sunday, after thorough inspection of all school facilities, a driving inspection of district bus routes and consultation with emergency management officials.
Lexington Two, along with many other districts, was closed last week for four days by order of the South Carolina governor, due to Hurricane Florence. State law requires that districts make up three days before consideration is given to “forgiving” any additional missed time, though districts also have the option of making up that additional time. We will share information as quickly as possible, once decisions are made.
